Tulane never really had a chance in this one, as Southern Mississippi quickly buried them in the first half.
 
The Green Wave managed just 18 first-half points, falling behind by 17 by halftime. They were crushed on the glass and gave up way too many easy baskets.
 
Kris Richard lead the way with 16 points and six rebounds while Kendal Timmons chipped in with 15 points and five assists.

That may be true, but it becomes a question of just how far up can they go? Not far at all, unfortunately for them.

The good news is that Tulane starts off the season with a gimme against Southeastern Louisiana, and if they can’t with that one, they might as well pack it in.

The schedule then quickly picks up in intensity, but by no means is it one of the harder slates you’ll find. They meet Ole Miss at home and then Houston and Rutgers on the road.

In the end, it really doesn’t matter. Tulane is so awful on offense and defense that they are destined for another low finish in Conference USA.
